Alberto Testone is a dental technician from Fidene, a working-class suburb of Rome. He is obsessed with the dream of becoming an actor. As a lookalike of the acclaimed writer and director Pier Paolo Pasolini, he is asked to interpret him in a theater production and in a film. In accepting the role, Alberto decides to follow the traces of Pasolini’s past, inadvertently stepping onto a path of self-discovery, finding himself in the locations and roles that Pasolini recounted, filmed and loved.
