Animata Resistenza is a visual portrait of Simone Massi, a simple and humble man, and a truly remarkable italian animator, whose short animated films have won over 200 awards on four continents. Massi can be considered one of the
masters of international independent contemporary animation. He is also the author of the Opening Sequence of the Venice Film Festival.
The documentary takes the audience into his world of old stories, memories, and visions. Through the thousands of animated drawings we get to explore the themes and sources of his inspiration: the peasant life, the values of existence and the deep meaning of the humble work in the fields, the Resistance period and the respect for the living creatures.
